The recent debate about the Mosque that is to be built near ground zero really scares me. That there needs to be any debate at all is ridiculous.
The United States is country where all religions are to be treated with respect and equality. It is written into the foundation of our founding. Yes, the ones that planned 9/11 where Islamic extremists, but not all Islamic people are extremists, and not all extremists are Islamic. So, with this in mind, the group in question has every right to build their Mosque wherever they want.
The day that the US says where a certain religion can build their house of worship, is the day that democracy dies.
